9th annual ‘Go Green Month’ celebrated at International Tech Park Chennai and CyberVale with environment friendly initiatives
Chennai, June 27, 2016: Ascendas-Singbridge, Asia’s leading provider of sustainable urban and business space solutions, concluded it’s Go Green month campaign at International Tech Park Chennai (a joint venture with TIDCO) and CyberVale (at Mahindra World City). The month long event celebrating its ninth year aimed at creating awareness about the environment amongst the 27,000 parkites working at both the IT parks.
This Go Green Month at ITPC and CyberVale included four weekly activities as mentioned below:
* Afforestation campaign – 3 June 2016
Parkites from ITPC came together to create an urban forest within the Park premises. Parkites planted 300 tree saplings with in a space of 5000 sq ft. This particular afforestation method ensures faster growth of trees and will contribute towards the greenery in the Park.
* Eco Bazaar– 7-10 June, 2016
The four day Eco Bazaar showcased a variety of eco-friendly and natural products ranging from bags, wire baskets, natural and organic food products and more. Plant saplings were also distributed amongst ITPC & CyberVale parkites at a subsidized price to encourage tree plantation.
* Promote carpooling – 14 – 17 June, 2015
Ascendas-Singbridge in association with Greenpool, an app developer, promoted carpooling among parkites. The activity was aimed at reducing the traffic congestion and pollution on Old Mahabalipuram Road and GST road.
* Eco Run – 24 June 2016
Parkites participated in a 5k green run within the Park premises to mark the conclusion of the Go Green event. This year’s theme being sustainable lifestyle, the run promoted the cause for a healthy way of life. About 111 parkites from ITPC and CV participated in the run.
