Chennai: There were so many problems/ distractions that the students had to overcome this year while facing the Plus-Two exams that were conducted in March. There was the December deluge that washed away many a student’s dream of a bright future and then there were the distractions created by cricket matches.
But yet, many students have fared brilliantly with Nivedita N of New Prince Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Adambakkam, bagging the overall third rank in Tamilnadu.
Nivedita, who secured 1,193 marks, getting centum in commerce, economics, business maths and accountancy, and 199 in Sanskrit, says, "I owe this success to my parents, teachers and my school principal, V S Mahalakshmi."
But, her father, Natrajan, said his daughter earned this success as she worked extremely hard, studying even eight hours a day. "I bought her 100 foolscap notebooks for writing, and she used to write and practice her lessons repeatedly,’ adds Natrajan.
He also adds that "Though I expected more than this, I am proud that my daughter has secured a State rank amidst the tough evaluation this year."
Nivedita’s ambition is to pursue CA, and she is currently attending CPT classes at Shankara Institute. Loganathan, corespondent of the school, says, ‘Nivedita is a very bright student and we expected her to secure a rank in the SSLC exams, too, which didn’t happen due to poor correction.’
