Country’s first-of-its-kind Offer by a Hotel Management Institute including 50% scholarships to 100 meritorious - underprivileged students
Chennai, 17 May 2016: Chennais Amirta International Institute of Hotel Management, one of India’s leading institutions imparting knowledge in hospitality studies, has announced scholarships worth Rs. 2 Crores in a press meet organized in the city today (17th May 2016). These scholarships are expected to benefit more than 2000 students.
It includes scholarships of up to 50% to 100 meritorious-underprivileged students, a first-of-its-kind Offer by a Hotel Management Institute in India. The three eligible criteria’s to avail this scholarship are as mentioned below:
1. Should be a first generation graduate.
2. Should have scored above 1000 (+2) and 450 (10th standard).
3. Should have annual family earnings not exceeding Rupees One lakh and twenty thousand.
“Our institute’s teachings are of value in real time and focus on practical ways of learning. This has made our institute stand apart and demonstrate success in pass percentages and recruitment. Every year we enroll students in increasing numbers. This year we have come out with scholarships to benefit students not only on merits but also on other aspects such as attendance, attitude, first generation scholar and underprivileged status,” said Mr. R. Boominathan, CEO of the institute.
“Plans are also there to fully reimburse 50 best students among the 100 availing 50% scholarships on showcasing merits in academics, attendance, attitude throughout their course, that is 100% Scholarship” he added.
Chennais Amirta in tie up with Bharatiyar University, Bharathidasan University, Tamil Nadu Department of Employment and Training and Bharat Sevak Samaj of the country and international institutions such as OUM – University Malaysia and London School of Business and Finance, is offering UG, PG and Diploma programmes including Diploma in Hospitality Management; Diploma in Hotel Management; Advanced Professional Diploma in Hotel Management & Catering Science; Diploma in Food Production; Diploma in Food & Beverage Services; Diploma in Front office; Diploma In House Keeping; and B.Sc (Catering Science & Hotel Management) to 10,000 students. The institute facilitates internships and placements through its tie-ups with nearly 450 hospitality establishments spread globally.
In the recent past it has set a record with 100% employability in a job fair conducted at its campus where 2286 students of Chennais Amirta have secured positions in 160 Star Properties that participated in the fair.
Other Scholarship details:
A.) For New Admission:
* A 10% concession on First semester fee will be offered to SC/ST students.
* A 10% concession on first semester fee will be offered to first generation scholars.
* A 10% concession on first semester fee will be offered to Meritorious students of +2 and 10th who score above 1100 and 450 marks OR A 5% scholarship will be offered on first semester fee for those who score above 1000 (+2) and 400 (10th standard).
* A student qualifying under all the above said criteria will enjoy a maximum of 20% waiver in the fee.
B.) For Existing Students:
* Around 1300 students who have registered 100% attendance in last semester will get a concession of 10% in the following semester fee.
* Around 300 students who have obtained 90% in academics will also get a 10% concession in the following semester fee.
* Those eligible under both the criteria will be entitled to a 20% waiver.
Five students were given 100% scholarship during the press meet today, in recognition of their laudable attitude, academics and attendance levels in the 1st semester.
