Chennai: Cases were registered against president of Tamilnadu Congress Committee (TNCC), E V K S Elangovan, this morning.
According to sources, based on a petition by Member of Parliament Thambidurai, who is also the propaganda secretary of the AIADMK, the public speeches of Elangovan have caused a dent to the image of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
His speeches are provocative and derogatory, claims the complainant. Following this, Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Lakhoni forwarded the petition to the city police who registered a case against the politician for violating the model code of conduct.
