The Auto Rickshaw Challenge – Tamil Nadu Run 2017, a seven day adventure run witnessed over 30 participants from 13 international rickshaw teams. The event was flagged off at the Madras Seva Sadan School Campus, Tambaram by Tr. Deepak Subramaniam, Chairman, Mr. Muthamil Arasan, Principal and Tr. K. Shri Vasudeva Das the Convener of Auto Rickshaw Challenge.
The enthusiastic squad were on an exhilarating journey across the length and breadth of Tamil Nadu covering cities of Pondicherry, Thanjavur, Yercaud, Thirvannamalai and finally returned back to Chennai. The aspiring adventurers come from countries as far as USA, UK, Australia, Canada, Ireland and The Netherlands looking for an experience of a lifetime.
This challenge is an initiative to raise funds through various projects of Round Table India for the underprivileged. Madras Midtown Round Table 42 is an exclusive Charity partner anchor for all the Rickshaw Rallies since 2006 and has over 1500 international participants have helped them raise over USD 300,000 which has been used in school projects not just in Chennai but throughout the Southern India, along the routes of the various rallies, creating infrastructure for about 2000 under privileged children.
The participants also visited school projects in Chennai, Pondicherry and Thirvannamalai interacting with students and teachers.
