Valliammai Engineering College, a member of the prestigious SRM Group of Educational Institutions that runs about 16 Institutions under the guidance of Valliammai Society, Chennai. The College is offering Programmes in Engineering Technology, Management and Computer Application. Totally 7 Undergraduate Courses and 8 Postgraduate courses are offered by VEC in addition to 7 research centres.
The grand celebration of the 13th Convocation Ceremony of the Institution was witnessed on 2nd September, 2017. Prof. Dr B Ilango, Former Vice Chancellor, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and distributed the Medals and the Degrees to the Graduands. He brought the focus on the fact that ‘Engineering’ cannot be restricted as a duration of learning but a lifetime process that demands meticulous participation for the betterment of the society through prospective working, effective communication and productive thinking.
Dr.T.R Paarivendhar, Founder Chairman & Chancellor, SRM University declared open the Convocation Ceremony and Addressed the students on responsibilities and reflections that they need to carry out as responsible citizens at work and in the world outside. He also stressed the need of quality of research in Engineering and Technology.
Dr.TP Ganesan, The Director, Valliammai Engineering College and Pro – VC, Planning and Development, SRM University, in his welcome address spread the warm aura of greeting the audience. Dr. N. Sethuraman, Registrar, SRM University was also present during the function to bless the graduands. Dr B. Chidambararajan, The Principal flashed the joy of sharing the years’ achievements and landmarks of the college in the Annual Report. Dr. M.Murugan, the Vice Principal presented the victorious rank holders of the Year. The ceremony witnessed 25 Rank Holders and overall of 915 students having received their Medals and Degree Certificates.
