CHENNAI: Suchismitha(31), a native of Kolkata, came out of her hostel on Wednesday morning was walking towards a bus stop was stabbed by her former colleague R Raghunath (23), on her stomach with a knife.
Locals, who saw Raghunath stabbing her, made a stray chase him. Seeing the dog chasing him, Raghunath hid himself in a street corner. However, people found him and nabbed him.
Suchismitha was admitted to a private hospital in the city.
During inquiries, it was revealed that Suchismitha and Raghunath had worked in an automobile company in Minjur here. In July last, Raghunath allegedly got into a quarrel with Suchismitha on their office bus. He allegedly harassed her. She complained the issue to her father, Chatterji, who also works in the same company in Kolkata.
Based on her complaint, Raghunath was sacked from the company. He hasn't got a new job after that.
