SBI Card partners with Chennai Metro Rail Limited to launch Chennai Metro SBI Card
~ Unique combo card to work as a metro smart card as well as a credit card for regular spends

Chennai, January 30, 2017: SBI Card, one of India’s leading credit card issuers, in association with Chennai Metro Rail Limited, Chennai’s rapid transit system, today announced the launch of a unique combo credit card – ‘Chennai Metro SBI Card’ designed for regular commuters on the Chennai Metro. The new Chennai Metro SBI Card is a multipurpose card which will function as a credit card as well as a metro smart card, offering the convenience associated with both in one card.
Targeted at daily metro users, this affordable travel credit card offers an unmatched value proposition in this segment, enabling customers to enjoy a convenient, hassle free commute on the Chennai Metro, while availing rewards and savings on their daily spends. In addition to the benefits of a metro smart card, the Chennai Metro SBI Card will offer 10X reward points on dining, grocery & departmental store and entertainment spends, providing an attractive savings proposition on the major daily expenses incurred by consumers. The card can also be used as a contactless card at the Chennai Metro AFC gate, enhancing the travel experience for commuters.
An auto reload feature will be introduced on the card, going forward, wherein the card will be automatically topped up when the balance falls below a certain threshold. This feature will further contribute to a seamless commute as cardholders will be able to recharge their metro cards without queuing up.
