CHENNAI: DMK treasurer M K Stalin on Friday demanded that the Centre should release a white paper on the demonetisation of 500 and 1,000 currency notes.
Stalin's demand comes on the penultimate day of depositing the demonesited currency notes.
"The white paper must explain how much black money has been found in the country and what happened to the economy after demonetisation. The central government must also take steps to release new currencies," Stalin said in a statement.
He said the sufferings of people had not come down even 50 days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetisation.
