Star Health launches upgraded Diabetes Safe Insurance Policy with enhanced benefits at no extra cost
Mumbai, July 26, 2016: Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Ltd, the first standalone health insurance company in the country has revised its Diabetes Safe Insurance Policy providing enhanced benefits at no additional costs.
In the revised Diabetes Safe policy, a person living with diabetes for any number of years can take a health insurance cover irrespective of their diabetes status in addition to regular hospitalization cover.
In addition to this, the policy also provides outpatient cover, re-imbursement of diagnostic charges and pharmacy bills apart from personal accident cover equal to the sum insured. These benefits are offered to the customers at absolutely no extra costs, that is, at the same premium offered earlier.
V Jagannathan, CMD, Star Health and Allied Insurance, said, “India is home to 65 million diabetics & 50 million pre –diabetes. With such a large diabetic population most expenses related to the ailments largely go as out-of-pocket expenses. We therefore initially thought of providing diabetes safe policy and now, added benefits with no extra cost that will act as a value addition to the customers. The revisions to the existing Diabetic Safe Insurance Policy have been made so that all customers can get maximum benefits in the same product.”
