Four protesters were killed in clashes between security forces and people protesting the death of top Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, police said.
At least 70 people, including security personnel, were injured.
The protesters who died were identified as Ajiaz Ahmed Thokru, a resident of Siligam in Anantnag, Yawar Manzoor Kondru of Anantnag, Khursheed Ahmed of Kulgam and Zubair Ahmed also of Kulgam, who was injured on Friday but succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
Protests swept the entire Kashmir Valley after the death of Wani, along with two of his associates in a gunfight with security forces in Bamdoora (Kokernag) village of Anantnag district on Friday.
He was buried on Saturday in his home village Tral in Pulwama district in the presence of 20,000 people who defied curfew.
