On World Environment Day, CITIZEN Watches (India) reaffirms its commitment to environment friendly technology.
Chennai, June 4, 2016: Forty years ago, Citizen Watch created the world’s first analogue quartz light powered watch called Eco- Drive technology as an acknowledgement to its eco-friendly origins. With this technology, the watches generate energy from any light source, no matter how dim. The USP is no battery change, just a light source. This technology has been used to create more watches – slimmer, smaller and gorgeous. As a light power pioneer Citizen, continues to explore new vistas and innovate for future wrist watches and timepieces.
Recently, Citizen Watch Co., Ltd., Japan announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Frederique Constant Holding SA, Switzerland. This particular acquisition will enable Citizen Watch Co., Ltd. to strengthen its brand portfolio, offering consumers a variety of products ranging from accessible timepieces to accessible luxury watches.
Commenting on World Environment Day, Mr Shunya Shoji, Managing Director, Citizen Watches (India) said, “We remain committed to reducing e-waste in this planet. As we celebrate our 40th year of pioneering Eco- Drive technology, we take a vow that we will continue to introduce elegant and stylish timepieces but keep innovating with new designs and technologies simultaneously.”
