Kirtilals promotes Women Empowerment and Art through ‘Natyam’

Chennai, May 31, 2016: Kirtilals Jewellers, a premium fine diamond and gold jewellery brand in India promotes Natyam, a short film emphasising on women empowerment and art, the two elements that inspires the brand Kirtilals. The renowned Kuchipudi dancer and the female lead in the film Natyam Ms. Sandhya Raju graced the occasion along with Mrs. Aruna Viswanathan Anand, P.V Niramala Raja, Member Secretary, ArshaVidya Mandir and Nina Reddy, Savera Group of Hotels.

Kirtilals is a strong believer in the philosophy of woman empowerment. To empower women, the brand recruits metric pass girls and train them with requisite skills to enhance their standard of living and make them independent. Today, Kirtilals group employs over 6000 women worldwide. Kirtilals also patronises promoting performing arts and has hosted live classical music concerts and book launches for its patrons.

Kirtilals has associated itself with ‘Natyam’, a short film by Revanth, which is focused on art and the need for women to follow their passion. The 40-minute film, takes you through the journey of the central character played by Ms. Sandhya Raju and highlights on how in spite of having all the comforts at home and a family there was something missing in her life. The film takes a turn when she realises that fulfilling the responsibilities at home, she had forgotten her passion towards dance. The film is focused on how she rediscovers herself and how it helps her in reviving her relationships.

Emphasising on the success of Natyam, Mr. Suraj Shantakumar, Director - Business Strategy, Kirtilals said, “We are overwhelmed with the success of the film. Ms. Sandhya Raju spoke on Kuchipudi dance as an art and how jewellery play a significant part in presenting Kuchipudi artist. Indian jewellery is distinctive in its design and workmanship and it is the temple jewellery that is adorned by the artist while performing to add glamour and enhance the overall appearance on stage. The jewellery designing is an art in itself, as it needs inspiration and creativity to echo the expression of the artist along with the costume and facial expressions.
