Here is some good news for the music lovers in our country. A new and unique Reality Singing Competition called ‘Chant India’ will be airing soon on television. The ‘Chant India’ is the first ever singing Reality Show for a social cause.
World Music Conservatory in association with Sri Sankara TV with support from an NGO SARATHI is producing this enchanting programme for the delight of the viewers. The proceeds of the show will be utilised for constructing toilets for girl students in Rural Karnataka schools.
Audition rounds will take place at Bangalore. The dates and are as follows
June 4th, 5th,18th and 19th
Competition Structure
There will be four rounds after the audition - each one having a different theme. These rounds are as follows:
1. Pre Quarter Finals - Retro India: Participants to choose film songs from up to the mid 80s.
2. Quarter Finals - Folk IT India: Participants to choose folk songs of any region of India.
3. Semi Finals - Divine India: This round will focus on devotional songs selected from film songs in any Indian language.
4. Grand Finale - Chant India: The participants will have to choose any film song that is composed and based on conveying the message & feeling about our country.
From the audition rounds, till the grand finale the results will be completely transparent and on spot. There will be recognition for participants who perform exceedingly well and spot prizes will be given away in every round.
The winner of Chant India will be awarded the CHANT INDIA SMILE Trophy !!
