Chennai: The Tamilnadu government today filed a criminal defamation case against TNCC chief EVKS Elangovan for his alleged remarks against Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
City public prosecutor (CPP) M L Jegan filed the case before the principal sessions court. According to the CPP, Elangovan had allegedly made the remarks in an interview to a TV channel on 30 April.
The CPP said the case was filed as Elangovan's remarks were defamatory in nature. On 11 May, the government had filed a criminal defamation case against Elangovan for his alleged remarks against Governor K Rosaiah.
