Launches 10 week certificate program as part of Summer 2016 semester

Chennai, 11th May 2016: Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music (SAM), Asia’s premier college for contemporary music invites applications for a 10 week certificate course in Indian Music as part of the Summer 2016 semester. The course will offer intensive training in the basics of Carnatic and Hindustani Music and provide students an opportunity to learn from the masters of the industry. Spear headed by eminent Carnatic Violinist, Dr. Lalitha Nandini (from the famous Violin sisters duo) the course will commence from 30th May 2016 onwards.

In line with the traditional Gurukula System, the fully residential program will offer students a knowledge sharing platform to interact with eminent musicians and provide an opportunity to understand the various nuances of India Music. The course curriculum will introduce students to various aspects of Indian Music like Indian Music Studies, Music Theory, Musical Forms, Notation, Indian Music Sessions and Private Lessons on voice, violin & mridangam.

A competitive fee structure for the summer program is packaged to offer tuition fee, food and accommodation in fully furnished serviced apartments and facilities like media lab and library.

Apart from the Indian Music Program, SAM also offers Diploma courses in Music Production and Music Performance as part Summer 2016 semester. SAM also commences its exclusively designed, 10 week Summer Foundation music program which is aimed at nurturing beginners with a solid foundation in music.

These fully-residential programs are scheduled to begin in the end of May with a balanced mix of internationally acclaimed musicians on the faculty board - Magos Herrera (Mexico), Fabio Gouvea (Brazil), Alex Kautz (Brazil), Felipe Brisola (Brazil), Barry Hogan (USA), Sreyas Narayanun (India) and Dr. S Karthik (India). The courses will commence from 30th May 2016 onwards.
