As part of our corporate social commitment towards a Better World, Ford has announced September as the Global Caring Month.
During September, volunteers from 14,000 strong workforces of Ford in India will engage in over 47 projects addressing education, auto safety, environmental sustainability and humanitarian support.
As a part of Global Caring Month, Ford organized a tree and sapling plantation drive in Chennai. Aimed at spreading awareness about conserving the environment, 500 Ford volunteers planted 3850 saplings and trees. Similar activities will be done in Ford’s areas of operations in Sanand, Gurgaon and Coimbatore.
Talking about the initiative, Michael Brielmaier, Managing Director of Ford Motor India, said “As one of its key CSR mandates, Ford Motors is committed to supporting the protection and preservation of the ecological ecosystem. Our motto for this year’s Environment initiatives has been on “Making our cities cleaner and greener”, as we realize the need to proactively come forward to champion the cause, as responsible corporates and individuals.”
Global Caring Month is the annual signature event of the Ford Volunteer Corps. Since its launch in 2005, Ford Volunteer Corps members have contributed more than one million hours of community service in 48 countries, representing $29 million of in-kind community investments.
