Chennai, 30 August, 2017: The Department of Management Studies of Easwari Engineering College, Chennai has organized a national level entrepreneurship development event –EMPRESARIO 2K17 on 29 August, 2017 in the campus.
The objective of the event is to inculcate the importance of entrepreneurship among the society. The event was presided over by Dr.K.Kathiravan, Principal of the college. The chief guest of the day was Dr.M.B.Nirmal, founder & chairman of ExNoRa International, Chennai. In his inaugural address the chief guest complimented the department of management studies for having organized such an event at this juncture. He is also highlighted the benefits of becoming an entrepreneur and also informed the gathering assistants provided by the central & state government in this respect. He further urged the delegates to take up entrepreneurship as this alone will not only enable them to go for greater heights but also responsible in the development of the economy.
Motivational speech regarding entrepreneurship was delivered by Mr. Sanjay Kumaran, CEO of GoDimensions who advised the participants to become entrepreneurs to reap the benefits extended by central and state government. The journey of entrepreneurship was narrated by Ms. Priyanka Ravindran, CEO of BeatRoute and scintillating speech about entrepreneurship was given by Mr.Sarjun K M, Film Director. The participants were given briefing on the steps to be taken to incorporate a company by Ms. Sireesha - Company secretary of VakilSearch.
Earlier in the day the event was started with invocation. Welcome address was given by Dr. SaiKumari v, Head of Department, Management studies. Overview of the event is given by Mr.S.Purushothaman, Assistant professor, management studies. Felicitation address was given by Dr. Antony Michael Raj, Vice Principal (academics) and he congratulated the department for organizing this event. In his presidential address Dr. K. Kathiravan, Principal of the college stressed the need for becoming entrepreneur in the current scenario and advised the management studies department to organize similar events in the future for the benefits of students & society. More than 400 students have participated in the event from different colleges in and around Chennai and out of which around 100 students from outside Tamil Nadu.
In the afternoon, a technical session was conducted. The first event was business plan which was chaired by Mr. Ansari Ibrahim, Business Analyst, TCS limited, Chennai. The other events were Negotiation skill and Logo Description which were chaired by faculty members of the department. Valedictory function was conducted and prizes were given to the winners, certificates were given to the participants. Vote of thanks was given by Muhil Vahini, Second year MBA student. The function came to an end with the recital of national anthem.
