Rajasthan Food Festival at Regenta Central Deccan Hotel Chennai

Sri. Ashok Gehlot Ex Chief Minister of Rajasthan, recently visited the Regenta Central Deccan Hotel, situated at No.36, Royapettah High Road, Royapettah, Chennai and enjoyed the delicious food with the on going Rajasthani food festival at their Olives multicusine restaurant. Sri. Ashok Gehlot Ex Chief Minister of Rajasthan was received warm welcome by Mr.Doulath Jain, Managing Director and Mr.R.Gowri Shankar, General Manager of the hotel along with the management and staff members.

He was the Chief Minister of Rajasthan for 2 times between 1998 – 2003 and 2008 – 2013. He hails from the city of Jodhpur in Rajasthan.

REGENTA CENTRAL DECCAN situated at 36, Royapettah High Road, Royapettah, Chennai- 600 014, has been conducting imaginative and innovative food promotions/events for gourmet delight and enjoyment of the cross-section society of Chennai.

Drop into savour what promises to be a true vegetarian and nostalgic delight. Master Chef Nname Ji Maharaj, the celebrity chef, a Rajasthani himself from Bikaner, has been specially  flown down to Chennai, he gave us insights into the Rajasthani way of cooking. A team of five chefs from Rajasthan were brought down to add an authentic regional flavour to the food festival. With most of the delicacies prepared in live kitchen counters, the aroma of Rajasthan.

The cuisine that originated in Rajasthan and the surrounding region in India is known as the Rajasthani cuisine. The state of Rajasthan is famed for its rich regal culture and heritage. The arid nature of the region, the extreme climatic conditions, scarcity of water and vegetation has witnessed evolvement of unique cooking styles and food habits of the natives that is noticeably different from other Indian cuisines. The Rajasthanis have moulded their culinary styles in such a way that many of their dishes can be shelved for several days and served without heating. The royal heritage of the region as well as the gastronomic enthusiasm among locals have led to a wide variety of delectable and exquisite Rajasthani dishes starting from main courses to snacks to sweet dishes. Some items like Dal-Baati-Churma and Bikaneri Bhujia have garnered both national and international popularity among foodies..  Experienced and well known Master Chef Mr. NNAME JI MAHARAJ specially arrived from Bikaner, RAJASTHAN to REGENTA CENTRAL DECCAN and along with Our Executive Chef SATTYBAAN recreating this RAJASTHANI FOOD FESTIVAL.

The Delicacies have been prepared following ancient authentic recipes and Ethnic time honored cooking methods of RAJASTHANI style, with a cyclic menu everyday.  The festival kick of from 26TH AUGUST  to 10th  SEPTEMBER , 2017  at our OLIVES multicuisine restaurant open for LUNCH & DINNER  EVERY DAY 12.00  noon to 3.00  p.m  and  7.00 to 11.00p.m.
