Chennai, 11th August 2017: Oriental Cuisines Pvt Ltd, the fastest growing restaurant chains in India is back with yet another innovative culinary experience by introducing ‘Desi Di’ a first of its kind Adaptive Indian restaurant in Chennai. Desi Di located in Perambur is the latest addition to the fun dining sector of restaurant after the recent launch of Va Pho- Asian canteen.
Desi Di’s vibrant art and décor reflecting the 80’s and 90’s would take one for a ride of nostalgia and bring back cherished old memories of the bygone era. The restaurant provides a unique taste and flavor of cuisines across India stitched together in an elegant style of service. The constantly evolving menu focuses around comfort dining with customer friendly pricing.
Ordering food here would be genuinely fun as the menu cards are inspired by Indian comic books and its characters. The menu is carefully curated with the help of Chef Aaron Coutinho, is an adaptive fusion of retro and modern Indian Cuisine. Some of the signature dishes featured in menu are Red hibiscus ice tea, Khakraya papad, Desi di mutton chelo kebab, Country matka chicken, Gulab jamun cheese cake and many more.
The weekly changing Tiffin menu ranges from small plates for one person to a to community meal for a large group which would be served in specially designed colorful aluminum Tiffin boxes. Some of the herbs and vegetables used in the preparation of food would be grown in the garden within the premises of the restaurant. Desi Di brings back some of the long forgotten Indian games like pallanguzhi, paramapadam, bambaram, kaleidoscope, carrom board etc. Guests can have a fun time playing these games and also pass on the amusement to the next generation. There is a separate reading space within the restaurant space filled with old comic books of Amar chitrakatha, twinkle etc.
