Chennai, India, 2 August 2017: ACREX Hall of Fame, an industry benchmark instituted by ISHRAE in partnership with Danfoss India, is to recognize the excellence achieved in conserving energy by Commercial Buildings in India. The coveted recognition aims to showcase success stories and encourage innovation in technology, design and systems to achieve the highest standards of energy efficient HVAC systems in Commercial Buildings. Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, Terminal 2, was the first inductee into the Acrex Hall of Fame (2016) and Infosys Building in Bengaluru is the second inductee into Acrex Hall of Fame (2017).
ACREX Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for the 3rd edition, scheduled to take place in February 2018 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bangalore.
“The Indian Air Conditioning and Refrigeration market in India currently estimated at Rs. 20,000 crores and expected to grow at a CAGR of 12% the next decade. It has all the ingredients to catapult India into the global hub for HVAC-R market as this industry plays a vital role in the success of programs such as Make in India, Smart Cities, Food security and Cold chain development. While it is general practice to look outside India for best use case projects which have displayed energy saving capabilities, we have examples in India which can be benchmarked globally. It is vital to look at these success stories within India which can be emulated by others in the industry. Every year, nominations are invited from various states and cities across India. Initial scrutiny and shortlisting of entries will be done by the ISHRAE technical committee and final selection will be done by a Jury consisting of eminent personalities in the field of HVAC, Government, Architecture and the Building Industry. To facilitate evaluation, the nominees/ owners/ representatives of the eligible buildings will be asked to submit relevant information from the BMS dashboard on building performance parameters. The inductee in the ACREX Hall of Fame (2018) will be announced during the Hall of Fame Night on 23 February 2018.
The key criteria for nomination are the Energy Performance Index, IEQ initiatives (Indoor Air Quality), Energy saving initiatives including Renewable Energy and the Building Management System including HVAC&R. Apart from this, the buildings are required to possess a minimum occupied conditioned space of 8000 m2 and must have been commissioned on or after 1 January 2014 and operational for a period of one year. Retrofitted and recommissioned buildings are also eligible, however details of retrofits done since 1 January 2014 should be provided.
Architects, HVAC&R professionals, Builders, Contractors and other stakeholders are encouraged to apply their buildings for nomination as also learn from the best practices of other buildings and be the driver of change in engineering an energy efficient tomorrow.
