Chennai, July 3, 2017: Uber, the ridesharing app that connects riders with drivers to provide convenient, reliable and affordable rides at the push of a button, recently announced its partnership with Chennai Metro Rail Limited. The booking kiosks at 12 metro stations across the city will provide viable first and last mile connectivity options, thereby moving to a step closer to a future with fewer cars and reduced congestion.

Arjun Srinivasan, General Manager, Uber – Chennai said, “Uber is about connecting people where they need to go. By complementing public transit, we’re bridging the first and last mile connectivity gaps, and making the existing infrastructure easily accessible to commuters. We are excited to partner with CMRL to encourage more people to use the metro and make a car-free lifestyle a reality.”

Starting July 1, metro commuters can book their rides at the 12 stations listed below.  Uber representatives at these booking counters will ensure they get a reliable and affordable ride to their next destination, without having to worry about access to a smartphone or internet connectivity.
