SRM chancellor inaugurates state-of-the-art Public School for young minds
Chennai, June 2017: An offshoot of the prestigious SRM University, SRM Public School was officially inaugurated by the founder Chancellor. T.R. Paarivendar of the university in an expansive 3 acres campus.
With the mission to “Educate minds and Enrich Life” SRM Public school strives to provide opportunities and facilities for holistic development by balancing academic demands with sports, cultural activities and community service.
“It is our intention that the students who graduate from SRM Public school will eventually become accomplished leaders in all of these fields.” was sounded by the Chancellor and to live up to his dreams the school has weaved in the co-curricular activities within the school working hours. By intentionally bringing students from varied culture and background the school aims to help build understanding and appreciation across different cultures and sectors of society and in building consensus amongst people of diverse backgrounds.
The academic programme is based on the internationally recognised CBSE curriculum and designed to promote academic excellence, leadership skills, social responsibility and a pluralistic outlook.
The School’s purpose-built campus – designed with eco-conscious material– porotherm blocks to maintain the room temperature a few degrees less than that of the external – a necessity in Chennai kind of weather, hosts state-of-the art academic spaces with dedicated robotics, science and computer laboratories and library. Its sports facilities include a sports fields, a cricket pitch, as well as tennis and football courts. There are track and field facilities as well as a center for yoga and dance.
The low student-to-teacher ratio optimises student-faculty interaction and greatly enriches learning.
