CHENNAI: A 23-year-old airman attached to the Indian Air Force base at Tambaram here shot himself dead on Wednesday night.
Police said Kabir Singh, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was on security duty when all of a sudden he shot himself.
Hearing a gun shot, his colleagues rushed to the spot and found his body.
The body was moved to the Chromepet Government Hospital for postmortem.
The police registered a case and were investigating.
