'Taj brings its in-house Michelin starred Chefs to India for a signature gastronomic experience'
Taj Hotels Palaces Resorts Safaris, a proud purveyor of global cuisine for over a century, brings to Indian shores, Chef Sriram Aylur and Chef Srijith Gopinathan - two culinary leaders who have been honored by the Michelin Guide, a Hallmark for Global fine dining.
For the first time, ever, Chefs Sriram and Srijith will combine their exemplary knowledge and passion for food and recreate the experience of dining at their world-renowned restaurants for a few exclusive guests.
Veteran Chef Sriram is the master chef at Quilon, the coastal Indian cuisine destination at Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences London while Chef Srijith visits us from the American kitchens of Taj Campton Place, San Francisco.
Chef Sriram became a part of the Taj legacy in 1989 and was an integral part of the success story of the iconic restaurant Karavalli at Taj in Bangalore. Fueled by his zeal and fervor, Quilon was awarded the Michelin star in 2008, which it has retained since then. His passion for creating gourmet experiences translates into the menu at Bombay Brasserie, London’s Indian restaurant destination.
He is credited with taking India's traditional tastes and blending them with progressive cooking techniques to delight global audiences. Chef Srijith, on the other hand, is known world over for his refined version of Californian-Indian cuisine at Campton Place Restaurant which earned him a coveted Michelin star six years in a row, culminating in two Michelin stars in 2016. He is the only Indian American chef to hold the distinction.
The result of this extraordinary partnership by the two seasoned experts is an exclusive gastronomic extravaganza in the cities of Mumbai and New Delhi. The Michelin-starred chefs will present their craft in the form of a four-course meal accompanied by an exclusive selection of wines at The Chambers, The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai on 20th, 21st and 22nd of March and at Varq, the modern Indian dining destination at the Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi on 28th, 29th and 30th of March.
Proceeds from one of the evenings will be donated to the Taj Public Services Welfare Trust, an initiative to offer assistance to the families of martyred soldiers, provide rehabilitation and vocational training to disabled and injured veterans, as well as identify the most impactful means of improving their quality of life.
