Launches Tia, a software bot to provide online personalized learning to one million Indian youth seeking careers in IT, Banking and Government
Signs LOI with TASK to initiate career seminars and youth scholarships in Telangana
TalentSprint has launched its new SmartCampus in Hyderabad. The new SmartCampus is a digital, state-of-the-art, 500-seater facility which provides onsite industry-oriented learning for young job seekers. It also houses the digital studios and cloud platform to webcast the company’s popular learning programs to job seekers in smaller towns across the country, as they migrate steadily online, by virtue of broadband and mobile access, to pursue skills and opportunities. SmartCampus was inaugurated today by Shri E.S.L.Narasimhan, Honourable Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, in the presence of other eminent leaders.
TalentSprint also announced the release of Tia (short for Test Improvement Advisor), an artificial intelligence bot, to analyse skill gaps and performance challenges at an individual job seeker level, and recommend personalized learning paths to maximize outcomes and minimize time. Tia will continually monitor the performance of each job seeker and benchmark them against competition. She will provide directed learning by guiding each job seeker to specific learning material that can help them improve their own performance. Given the large datasets available to Tia, she will generate actionable insights for use by human experts, to upgrade their content and delivery.
Addressing at the inauguration, Dr. Santanu Paul, Co-Founder and CEO at TalentSprint, said, “Our move into a larger and smarter campus with digital, mobile and cloud integration is part of our ongoing journey to help one million youth pursue their career dreams. Our SmartCampus is both a hi-tech and a hi-touch facility. The hi-tech dimension involves beaming popular digital programs across the length and breadth of the country, so job seekers anywhere can access them over web or mobile.
The hi-touch dimension involves an unprecedented personalization of the learning experience, thanks to Tia, and a state-of-art experiential environment where college graduates can acquire skills via hands-on, work-driven learning at par with industry. In turn, this will lead them to exciting careers in both startups and established companies.”
Speaking on the occasion Shri E.S.L.Narasimhan said, what Shantanu has done is a leap forward and not a sprint, today what we require is skill development, I am talking of skill development because unfortunately while on one side I would like to promote skill development as much as possible, on the other side I would also like to appeal that this is the time for all of us to sit down and think what is wrong with our education system, something definitely gone wrong with our education system, the capacity to think, innovate, ask questions or the intuitive system has completely collapsed, our educational system has just become a mechanical process, that's where the skill talent will provide a platform which will take us forward.
Because mere education today is no longer a rewarding experience. Unfortunately we have come to a stage where engineers are coming for jobs which are very very pedestrian, it’s a pathetic state of affairs, that means we need to have a relook at our educational curriculum and see how best it can really fit into the climate that is there on the ground and there after bring them to Talent Sprint which gives you that head on start at the beginning of your career. While we move into the digital world, are we by any chance shutting down our memory, will the population going to be brain dead and only the machines that would work , because today's kids work only on iPad, everything is iPad, class work is on iPad, homework is on iPad, as a result what happens is the natural skills of hand writing suffers, memory suffers, intuitive mind suffers, because you go in there, go into Google and get the answers and today we have come to a stage where children are not able to calculate 2+2, that's my only apprehension that in the process are we going to produce a population of brain dead people.
India is known for its rich heritage which is memory, memory has been our biggest asset, our Vedas, Upanishads all have come through from generation to generation by word of mouth and it's come by word of mouth because of the memory that we had developed, so I think that's the only point i would like to say, while its very good to have all this technology, but initial education should focus on memory, during our college the mathematical table we had know it by heart, there was no question referring to the table, have we given up all those things, today all we have to do is go to one of those private academies who will give a guide to know what questions are expected and then cram up those questions and pass out and come to TalentSprint because you learnt nothing, I think this is where our malady lies. It is time for government to reinvent education and there is no purpose in opening IITs, IIMs all over the place unless I have the right quality of faculty and right the quality of education, the quality of education has to be brought up and there after we do a skill development which is career progression, you can't start education at the age of 25, education starts much earlier from day one when one goes to school, the value system comes in there, the memory system, the innovative skills come in there, so I think technology is very good as a substitute, but can't become a substitute for intelligence. Human intelligence has to be nurtured it has to be brought up. Across the globe people are thinking but are my fellow men thinking, today there is need to produce a population of Indians who are of a high value throughout the world.
According to Manish Kumar, CEO and MD, NSDC, “Skill India and Digital India are on a path of convergence, and TalentSprint is setting the pace on that. By deploying the latest technology and digital practices in skill development, we can bring about greater change across the country. The challenge in skilling is the trade off between quality, reach, and affordability. It is hard to bring the best trainers and content to each and every young job seeker across the length and breadth of the country. TalentSprint’s youth career platform achieves quality, reach, and affordability in one solution. The introduction of AI bots to create a highly personalized learning experience for each skill seeker is also very differentiated and promising”.
Speaking on the occasion, M.Balachandran, Chairman, National Payments Corporation of India, and former Director, Institute for Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), said: “There is a great demand for skilled talent in banking, financial, and government sectors. Young graduates from all corners of the country can apply for these highly aspirational, well-paid jobs. However, most of our youth do not even get access to high quality training and preparation. This is where TalentSprint’s digital platform, powered by artificial intelligence, can bring the best learning experience to each and every young job seeker, wherever they may be located in the country. Over time, I expect them to offer similar learning experiences to in-service professionals, and span multiple industry sectors”.
The event also included the signing of an LOI between TASK (Telangana Academy of Skills and Knowledge) and TalentSprint to bring career seminars in Telangana, and offer full scholarships to promising rural youth who can enroll in TalentSprint’s programs.
Distinguished guests and speakers at the event included Dr. B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman of Cyient and Former Chairman of NASSCOM, Mr. M. Balachandran, Chairman of NPCI and Former Director of IBPS, Dr. Manish Kumar, CEO and MD of NSDC, and Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, ITE&C, Government of Telangana.
