NEW DELHI: An old man died while trying to break up a fight between his son and a few neighbours over a property dispute, police said here on Tuesday, adding that two men were arrested in the case.
According to the police, the incident took place on Monday night when the deceased Khadak Singh, a resident of Sangurpur village in Alipur are of North West Delhi, intervened to break up a fight between his son and four of his neighbours over a property dispute.
"Khadak Singh, 75, after seeing his son being beaten by Rajpal, Hari Prakash and others, tried to intervene to end the brawl. He collapsed and died due to a head injury," a senior police officer said.
Khadak Singh was later taken to a private hospital where he was declared dead on arrival, police said.
"Police teams arrested Rajpal and Hari Prakash from their residence while their other family members are on the run. A manhunt is on to nab them," he said.
