Looks can be deceiving; a popular catchphrase among the millennial generation. However, does it still hold true or not?
Chennai, January, 2017: Bharat Matrimony, the largest and most trusted matrimony brand recently conducted a survey among 14,000 participants on their preferences, when searching for a life partner.
With changing demographics and westernized culture, we live in a society influenced with modern opinions and views. But, has it really created an impact while making the most important decision in life?
While the aspects of career, age and money held a strong forte in finding the right match, the survey surprisingly revealed that 87% of women and 93% of men still regard physical appearance as an important factor in choosing their better half.
The survey also revealed other interesting results like how majority of the women would like men to help them with their household chores and support them in their careers.
Other important findings in the survey are given below:
* 53% women said they prefer a professionally qualified partner (Engineering/ Medicine/ MBA/ Others). However, only 17% of men were looking for a professionally qualified bride, while 23% were fine with a graduate and 54% did not indicate any preference
* 65% girls were looking for a partner with age difference of up to 4 years while 54% men preferred up to 4 years and significant 26% men preferred “above 5 years”.
* For 62% of men, partner’s willingness to relocate to another city was an important consideration while marrying.
Launching the survey results, Kaushik Tiwari, Head Marketing at Matrimony.com said, “This survey is part of our endeavour to study consumer insights and continuously improve our understanding and thereby our offering.”
