CHENNAI: A 25-year-old man Abbas Manthri, a resident of Erode, had come to the city to visit his friends and invite them for his wedding which was to be held on January 16.
He met his friends at Alandur and they asked him to stay back for the night. He had dinner with his friends and went to bed at his friend's home.
Next morning his friends tried to wake him up as he was to leave by the Kovai express, but Abbas did not wake up. Panicked, his friends rushed him to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Police moved the body to the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital for postmortem. Police are questioning his friends about the incident.
The Alandur police have registered a case of mysterious death and are investigating.
