CHENNAI: The Southern Railway on Wednesday cancelled two trains and rescheduled half a dozen others in the wake of cyclone Vardah that crossed Chennai coast on Monday.
In a statement issued here, Southern Railway said the Chennai Central-Secunderabad Charminar Express and the Chennai Egmore-Rameswaram Express were cancelled for the day.
The railway said it will run a special express train between Chennai Egmore and Karaikal at 11.55 p.m. (2355 hours) on December 14.
The December 14 trains that were rescheduled are:
The Chennai Egmore-Thiruvananthapuram Ananthapuri Express, scheduled to leave at 7:50 p.m. (1950 hrs) has been rescheduled to leave at 9:10 p.m. (2110 hrs).
The Chennai Egmore-Tuticorin Pearl City Express, scheduled to leave at 7:30 p.m. (1930 hrs) will now leave at 10:45 p.m. (2245 hrs).
The Chennai Egmore-Manamadurai Silambu Express, scheduled to leave at 8:20 p.m. (2020 hrs) has been rescheduled to 12:15 a.m. (0015 hrs) on December 15.
The Chengalpattu-Kakinada Circar Express, scheduled to leave at 4 p.m. (1600 hrs) will now leave at 8:30 p.m. (2030 hrs) on Wednesday.
The Chennai Central-Hyderabad Express, scheduled to leave at 4:45 p.m. (1645 hrs) will now leave at 9:30 p.m. (2130 hrs).
The Chennai Central-Kollam Special Fare train, scheduled to leave at 4:30 p.m. (1630 hrs) will leave at 12:15 a.m. (0015 hrs) on December 15.
