Chennai, 4 March 2016. Mr Ramesh Kymal, Chairman & Managing Director, Gamesa Renewable Private Limited, Chennai, has been elected as Chairman of CII Tamil Nadu State Council for the year 2016-17. Mr Kymal’s name was announced at the first meeting of the reconstituted Tamil Nadu State Council held in Chennai on Friday.
Mr Kymal has been closely associated with the CII and was the Vice Chairman of CII Tamil Nadu State Council during 2015-16. He has also been the Chairman of Renewable Energy Council of CII Godrej Green Business Centre since 2003. He has over 25 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, casting his leadership traits across multi – national renewable energy corporations thus bringing out continuous growth in India’s renewable energy business.
He is the recipient of the Solar Society of India Award in 2005 for ‘Business Leadership’. Mr Kymal is a Mechanical Engineer with specialisation in operational research, statistical quality control and has pursued higher management studies in INSEAD, Fontainebleau. Mr Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss Industries Private Limited, Chennai has been elected as Vice Chairman of CII Tamil Nadu State Council for the year 2016-17.
Mr Purushothaman is an active member of CII. He was the Chairman of CII Chennai Zone during 2014-15 and is a member of CII National Council on Agriculture. An Engineer in Electronics and Communication from College of Engineering, Guindy, he is also an Alumina from IIM Ahmedabad and Singularity University in California.
