In an endeavour to promote Indian Handicrafts and Handlooms and to showcase the rich heritage of India, Cottage Craft Mela provides an opportunity to about Fifty artisans including State awardees and National awardees from various parts of India who are participating in this Craft mela by representing their regions to behold the rich and varied art and craft traditions of India's culturally enriched regions, providing a glimpse of their culture and a chance to exchange creativities.
On display are exquisite Jewellery, paintings, Metal ware, Woodcraft, Wood carvings, Art objects, Marble Craft, Women's wear, Men's Wear, Sarees, Shawls, Dress Fabrics in Textiles the rich weaving tradition of India represented by the wide range of Handlooms and cotton sarees and dress materials from Jaipur, chikan embroidered kurtas from Lucknow, silk Kurtas, Jackets, silk scarves to name the few.
This is another sincere effort made by CCIC, Bengaluru, in co-ordination with Development Commissioner Handicraft, Govt. of India, to encourage the craft persons and present their creations to the discerning buyers from all parts of the globe.
