Chennai, 22nd September 2016: September 22nd is celebrated as Rose Day and is dedicated to those battling cancer all over the world. This Day is in memory of a 12 year old – Melinda Rose of Canada, who when diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer - Askin’s Tumour, did not give up hope.
In the remaining six months of her life, she made each day meaningful, touched the lives of those around her in a positive, unforgettable way. Through emails, poems and letters, she made sure that she brought joy, right up to the last minute. Let us remember Melinda today and celebrate the unquenchable human spirit.
Apollo Cancer Institute, which focuses of precision oncology care delivery celebrated Rose day with their patients/patient family members, Clinicians and other care givers by giving assurance that we are with them throughout their treatment process.
The event emphasized on importance of prevention, screening and early detection of cancer. The celebration also signified that positive attitude with human touch goes a long way in strengthening the healing and confidence in care process.
Few cancer patients shared their successful experience on how they faced treatment with a ray of hope thereby boosting the morale of other patients undergoing the treatment at Apollo Cancer institute.
