Winston-Salem: Indian tennis veteran Leander Paes and his German partner Andre Begemann edged past Sweden's Robert Lindstedt and Pakistan's Aisam-ul Haq Qureshi to advance into the final of the ATP Winston-Salem Open here.
The unseeded Indo-German duo on Friday defeated Lindstedt and Qureshi 1-6, 7-6, 10-4 in a super tie-break to face Spain's Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and Finland's Henri Kontinen in the summit clash.
Paes and Begemann started the proceedings on a bad note as the duo were broken twice to surrender the first set 1-6.
In the second set, Paes-Begemann bounced back and held their serve before clinching the tie-breaker.
In the super tie-break, Paes used his experience to convert the mini-breaks effectively to close the match.
