* To offer over 1.7 million pages of notes and tutorials to under graduates in India via free and Rs 99 per month subscription models
Chennai, India, February 26, 2016: Etabu.com, an online platform for inter-disciplinary collaboration and a global knowledge-sharing podium with unlimited access to notes and tutorials developed by Singapore-based Itabu Pte Limited, today announced its official launch in India.
Emerging as the world’s first global online university community, Etabu.com is a responsive and user-friendly website that eliminates the needs to carry bulky books, saves on usage of paper and connects the hungry minds of students to the digital world, of millions of pages of study material, tutorials, notes and multi-media content.
Etabu.com now offers under graduate students in India the opportunity to catch up on classes, courses or nail that next exam anytime he/she wants –– all without carrying their heavy books, notes or spending time on travelling.
“Considering how advanced the Indian educational system is, and given the difficulties in travelling, we believed India was a great place to start. Also, India has one of the largest community of growing under graduate educational needs. Etabu’s long-term aim is to be available in every country. However, our focus right now is only on India,” said Mr Madhukar, founder and chief technology officer of Itabu Pte Limited.
In the Beta phase for almost two years so as to have a robust amount of content before going live, Etabu already registered over 350,000 registered students on board before going live.
“As long as you belong to any university across the globe, you can set up an Etabu account and gain access to the over 2,000 courses, covering about 14,000 subjects comprising more than 1.5 million pages of notes and tutorial content currently available on Etabu. The platform is a wonderful opportunity for universities and professors to showcase the courses they have and the great work they are doing for students,” Mr Madhukar said.
Etabu.com will be offering three levels of services to Indian students – Free Tier to gain access to popular courses, Referral Tier to gain access to the full site by telling their friends about Etabu, and Paid Tier to gain full access to the site and future plans for gated content.
“Keeping in mind the interest of Indian student community, Etabu has priced its premium content at an affordable Rs 99 per month. In other words, a couple of trips to the local library or two cups of coffee would probably cost more than one month of premium education with Etabu,” said Mr Krish Datta, non-executive director Itabu Pte Limited.
