Kathmandu: A 5.4 magnitude earthquake jolted Nepal on Wednesday afternoon creating panic in the Himalayan country.
The quake tremors, epicentred in Sindhupalchowk district of central Nepal, were felt at 3.07 p.m. (local time). The district was badly hit in the April 25 quake last year, the National Seismological Centre said.
People came out of their houses and offices screaming when the tremors were felt. A total of 435 aftershocks above 4 on the Richter scale have been recorded in the Himalayan nation during the past 10 months.
