NEW DELHI: Visiting Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Dato Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here.
"The Prime Minister warmly recalled his successful visit to Malaysia last year for the ASEAN and related Summits, as well as for a bilateral visit," an official statement issued here said.
Hamidi, who is also his country's Home Minister, briefed Modi on the state of bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of counter-terrorism, cyber security and trans-national crimes, it said.
The Prime Minister reiterated his invitation to his Malaysian counterpart to visit India in the near future.
